Business Blog Software

Business Blog Software is a critical part of building a lead generation engine.

Basically, you can use your business blog software to build an article publishing site that gets great search engine results and becomes a lead generation engine for your company.

If you want to know how to do it, you should go over and take the free lead generation course.

Business blogging is a great way to get your employees involved in building value for the company and contributing to a system that is proven to generate leads and grow companies.

Business Blogging Software

If you are looking for a business blog software solution, the better thing to do is understand what you want to accomplish with your business blog.

Finding the most bells and whistles in a business blogging software solution will probably only confuse the issue around your goal.

There are only a few Business Blogging goals worth considering.

  1. Sales - Business Blogging Software in the hands of a good writer or group of writers can actually directly result in sales for some kinds of products.
  2. Leads - Lead Generation with Blogs is very possible if you know how to customize blogging software to be a lead generation engine.
  3. Relationships - If your goal is to create a better relationship between your business and your customers, business blogging is an important part.
  4. SEO - Business Blogs enhance search engine results and generate more traffic to your main website.
  5. Expertise - If you want to position your C level executives as industry experts, a business blog along with speaking and webinars is essential.

The hard thing here is you cannot just say yes.

Instead, you must pick one as your primary goal.  If you try to do all five business blogging goals, you will fail.

That does not mean that all these things cannot happen - but by focusing on one as the primary goal you are going to drastically change the Corporate Blogging Software you choose.

For example, building an expert blog is much more like building an typical blog.  You really do not need custom business blogging software to set up an expert blog.  However, if you want to generate sales, leads and get SEO results you need to work with someone that understands how these things happen and have a custom business blogging solution that meets your needs.  These people usually understand SEO, Affiliate Sales and Squeeze pages so that you can combine these strategies and get the business blogging results you want.  And it will usually get a great ROI over time.

Business Blog Content Management

Blog Software makes an excellent content management solution for businesses that want to do client acquisition with business blogs.

Instead of thinking about the blog software as a blog, you need to think of it as a simple solution for publishing articles and getting great search engine results.  Then using that visibility to make a clear call to action that will generate leads for the business.

Blog software for business purposes is actually simpler than traditional blogging software.  That is because a business blog should focus on clean and simple with a clear lead generation strategy.

Employee Blogging in your blog solution only enhances your results because it helps prospects get to know your staff and it helps you get found by providing more content that search engines will index and display.

Blog software is great for content management.  Your business blog will benefit from clean, simple and measurable.

Business Blogging or Twitter?

I really enjoy twitter and Business Blogging.  So if you are wondering which is better for you, this post is where you can start.

First, I am not going to leave you in suspense.  Both.

Why?  Twitter is fast.  Everyone should be using twitter and anyone serious about online leads and sales should also be blogging.

Twitter will help you get quick boosts of traffic.  Your business blog will help you get better SEO ranking.

This is kind of like asking if you Ford should advertise in magazines or on TV.  If you have the resources, both is the obvious answer.

You may not know it, but you can automate twitter to automatically update when you have a new blog post.  This puts Twitter on autopilot and helps you leverage your time to be effective in both mediums.

Business Blog for Customer Acquisition

Can you use a business blog for customer acquisition?

Certainly you can, but you will be more successful if your blog is set up having customer acquisition as the primary blog goal.  The purpose of blogging is not to create a blog.  It is to achieve your goals via the web.

Sure, the purpose of blogging for some people is to use it as a networking and social media.  However, there is not a rule someplace that says that is the only way to use it.

Take email for example.  Email was initially used to send people messages.  Then people started using email for marketing.  Now email is one of the most cost effective ways to do sales.

The biggest challenge to email is to build a hot list of emails of people that want to hear from you.  That is where the business blog comes in.  Customer Acquisition starts with someone opting into your email system if they do not directly buy from you or request a demo.

Your business blog just needs to be set up with purpose.  Is the purpose list building?  Lead Generation? Direct Web Sales?

That is why our system only adds essential internal links and clear calls to action.  It is simple and it is focused only on Customer Acquisition via great search engine optimization.

Blogging Mistakes

Here is a list of common business blogging mistakes people make.

  1. They write their blog too general.  The more specific your blog is, the better it performs in search engines.
  2. They only talk about their product.
  3. They never talk about their product.
  4. They junk up the blog with all kinds of things in the side bar instead of focusing on customer acquisition.
  5. New Business Blogs should have realistic expectations.  Write every day for two months and then look at the numbers.  Not after 3 days.
  6. Get inbound links.
  7. Don’t overdo outbound links.
  8. Don’t spend too much time on a blog post.  Short frequent posts are better than spending a month perfecting one blog post.

Free Blog List

Free blogs will not rock out the search results as well as employee ambassador blogs will, but they are still pretty good if you work at them for a while.  So here is a list of some of the best free blog sites.

Keep in mind that even if you are doing a paid search focused blog like Employee Ambassador, it is still a good idea to put up some free blogs and do quick posts to them once in a while, along with links to your main business blog.

Here is the list of Free Blogs

They are free blogs, so why not set one up and post occasionally.  If nothing else, as they age they are better for helping you get inbound links to your real business blog.

New Business Blog

If you are going to start blogging and you are setting up a new business blog, here are 10 tips.

  1. Don’t think about what a blog should be.  Think about what you want your blog to achieve for your small business.
  2. Blogs are just CMS websites (Content Management Systems) - don’t be intimidated.
  3. There is no absolute right or wrong.  You can write a combination of short, long and medium blog posts.
  4. Use images, but if you do not have time, just put up the text.
  5. Post less more frequently, not a lot only occasionally.
  6. Add Google Analytics right away so you can watch your progress.
  7. Don’t clutter your business blog
  8. Don’t drive people off of your business blog with too many external links
  9. Don’t make people search all over your new business blog for your contact information.
  10. Link to your business blog from outside resources to get it a better reputation.

Make Money Blogging

What Employee Ambassador does is very similar to what niche bloggers have been doing for years.  Targeted blogging with the intent to make money.

For business blogging, we have simplified the entire thing.  You only have to write a title and a few paragraphs in your blog post, and the system does the rest.

So how powerful is the system?

We experiment constantly to tweak and optimize our process.  One niche product site we set up generated 3 sales worth approx $700 in the first three weeks.

While that may not seem big, it was something that will continue to get better and it was on a brand new domain name and for affiliate products.  Launching something new like that is not easy.

If it was on a sub-domain of your company and selling higher ticket items that you produce, the Blog ROI would be much greater.

I like to point this out because if you request a demo for our Corporate Blogging product and we get to the pricing issue, it really is not an issue.  The only thing you have to ask is if you are selling something that people want to buy.

Twitter, FaceBook, Free Blogs and Google Adwords

I just got an email offer from a marketer to download their report about everything from Twitter to Google.

If there is one thing I have learned over the years, it is that most business owners want less, not more.

Do business owners really want a list of 1,000 place you can go to set up accounts and maybe generate an occasional website visitor?

Or would a business owner want one strategy, such as our business blogging strategy, that is measurable, produces sales and leads and is easy to maintain because it shares the responsibility and optimizes automatically?

I think the choice is obvious.

Twitter, FaceBook, Free Blogs and Google are great.  But start with one focused strategy that has clear goals and grow from it.  Don’t start with a lot of stuff and then wonder why nothing big ever happens.
